On May 3rd, 2009 the Illinois Bass Federation held their Junior National Guard Qualifier on Clinton Lake, IL. This event is the stepping stone to advance to the National Guard World Championship.

Winners Logan Heberer and Clayton Trueblood qualified to compete in the National Guard World Championship that will be held in conjunction with the FLW Forest Wood Cup at Pittsburg, PA July 31, 2009!

15-18 Year Old Age Group


1st Place and Big Bass, Logan Heberer - Age 17, Manito, IL.

Winner & Big Bass: Logan Heberer - Angler's Summary:
Taking first place and big bass in this year's 15-18 year old age group was 17 year old Logan Heberer from Manito, IL.  His 2 fish weight of 6.47 lbs earned him the top prize spot.  Logan caught his fish on a Tennessee Shad colored crankbait early in the morning while fishing rocks.  The big bass weighed in a hefty 4.91 lbs!

11-14 Year Old Age Group

 
1st place Clayton Trueblood, Age 11, Petersburg IL.

Winner: Clayton Trueblood - Angler's Summary:
Taking first place in this year's 11-14 year old age group was 11 year old Clayton Trueblood from Petersburg, IL.  His 2 fish with a total weight of 3.09 lbs were caught early in the morning on a pumpkin-red shaky head rig.  The area he fished was in the cove by the dam and boathouse cove!
 

Big Bass: Ryan Spencer - Angler's Summary:
Taking big bass prize in this year's 11-14 year old age group was 12 year old Ryan Spencer from Tolono, IL.  His big fish weighed in at 2.57 lbs and was caught on a white/chartreuse spinnerbait.
